Step Up! Speak Out! Give Back!
Men United to End Men’s Domestic & Sexual Violence
Against Women & Children
The men of the Branchville Correctional Facility PLUS Dorm have stepped up, spoken out and are giving back…to Crisis Connection. First the residents voted to donate $500.00 to CCI to assist in funding our nonviolence programs. PLUS Dorm residents earn money from in-facility fundraisers and from their prison wages.
Next the residents welcomed CCI’s Joan Knies for three, 2-hour classes with the residents. Third they welcomed CCI’s Becky Dunlap for a tour of the facility and a sneak peek of their art work in progress and then…the really big show!
On Thursday evening April 26, the residents along with Ms. Sara Schroeder, Parenting Dept. Coordinator and Ms. Sally Houzanme, PLUS Dorm Case Mgr. welcomed invited guests to Branchville for a viewing of the resident’s original works of art illustrating their solidarity and support in helping to end men’s sexual violence against women and children. In addition, the residents planned, purchased, prepared and served a scrumptious hors d’ oeuvre buffet.
CCI is very grateful for PLUS Dorm’s support and looks forward to mutually beneficial collaborations in the future.
