Valentine Respect Cards

As most of us have noticed by the heart decorations and candy-filled displays everywhere we turn, Valentine’s Day is rapidly approaching. While this day for some can be filled with romance and friendship, for others it is filled with anxiety, fear and violence.

In spite of increased awareness, men’s violence against women and children persists and the impact on our community is well documented. Our agency received 2,255 hotline calls and served 804 clients in 2006 alone.

Men’s domestic and sexual violence are brutal crimes that can be prevented if everyone takes responsibility. Over 3,400 people gave us copies of their handprints during October 2005 with their personal commitment to become part of the solution. They stated loudly, “Enough is Enough!”
