VOLUNTEER

Helpline Support – After Hours

Provide personal support services to victims of domestic and sexual violence who have contacted Crisis Connection via the 24hr. helpline in the evenings 5:00 pm – 9:00 am and on weekends.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Answering Helpline and providing support, encouragement, and empathy to callers
  • Providing appropriate referrals
  • Relay critical information to an advocate immediately or next day
  • Complete and return mandatory paperwork to an advocate
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information regarding Crisis Connection Clients

Expectations
  • Commitment to Crisis Connection’s philosophy and mission
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Submit to a criminal background check.
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s basic volunteer training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s direct service training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s on-call training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of 10 hrs continuing education training annually

Helpline Support – Office Hours

Provide personal support services to victims of domestic and sexual violence who have contacted Crisis Connection via the 24hr helpline during office hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.

Responsibilities include:
  • Answering Helpline and providing support, encouragement and empathy to callers
  • Providing appropriate referrals
  • Relay critical information to an advocate by the end of the day
  • Complete and return mandatory paperwork to an advocate
  • Assist advocates and prevention team with clerical duties when needed
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information regarding Crisis Connection clients.

  • Commitment to Crisis Connection’s philosophy and mission
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Submit to a criminal background check.
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s basic volunteer training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s direct service training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s on-call training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of 10 hrs continuing education training annually

Interpreter Services

Assist the staff with serving the Spanish-speaking community, especially those affect by domestic violence and sexual assault.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Translate conversations between staff and Spanish speaking clients
  • Accompany Victim Advocates to court and help translate as needed
  • Assist in translating paperwork related to CCI services such as victim impact statements and protection orders
  • Help with translating for staff with community partners in outreach, training, and presentations
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all information regarding Crisis Connection clients

Expectations:
  • Commitment to Crisis Connection’s philosophy and mission
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Willing to be on-call as situations arise
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Submit to criminal background check
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s basic volunteer training (2 hrs)
  • Completion of Crisis Connection’s direct service training (2 hrs)

Marketing Committee

  • Market and Represent Crisis Connection throughout the community and corporate sector
  • Responsibilities Include: Marketing subcommittee with Board of Directors
  • Expectations: Commitment to Crisis Connection’s philosophy and mission
  • Completion on Crisis Connection’s Basic Volunteer Training (2 hrs)
  • General Knowledge of Crisis Connection’s services and resources.
